Superior Online Learning

Instructor Joel Ginsburg came to Colorado Tech Online for the same reason many of his students do; it offers a format that combines academic studies and reality-based applications in a way that makes online learning uniquely fulfilling for adult learners. Ginsburg was already a veteran of long distance education with years of experience teaching a number of business courses at other well-known online institutions. While he admired and appreciated these programs, Ginsburg felt there was still something more that could be done to make Web learning more effective.

"I was looking for a school that offered its students support and a sense of community as well as access to academic information," said Ginsburg. "At Colorado Tech Online, students really do come first. This philosophy has led to the development of innovative technology that facilitates a superior online learning process. One critical difference that is extremely important is that Colorado Tech Online's system allows students to reach real people who can answer their questions and address their concerns directly and immediately. This includes student Advisors as well as a Dean of Students who serve as advocates for pupils who need one. There's also a real sensitivity toward an adult student's responsibilities outside of school that often must take precedence over his or her homework. All of this makes it easier for students to make learning part of their lives and for instructors to teach more effectively. "

CTU Instructor: Joel GinsburgColorado Tech Online fosters a collaboration between staff, instructor, and student to ensure optimal learning in an atmosphere that is both challenging and friendly.

Ginsburg's own effectiveness as a teacher is considerable. No doubt his ability to make every topic relevant and interesting starts with the depth and breadth of his academic education including a BS in Physics and Engineering from the City College of New York and a MBA in Corporate Finance at Adelphi University. Ginsburg is currently pursuing a Doctor of Management in Organizational Behavior and like all of the faculty members at Colorado Tech Online, he brings real world expertise in his subject to the classroom. For over twenty years he played a leadership role in the operations of several companies in the US and abroad in industries ranging from manufacturing to finance. This experience has given him a firsthand understanding of the challenges global corporations face when dealing with a culturally diverse work force and target markets. It's also inspired him to start writing a book on how these corporations can improve their productivity in the future.

Of course, Ginsburg, like Peter Drucker and other visionaries, feels that online learning will play a major role in professional development for people in every industry. Further, he feels that Colorado Tech Online offers potential students a special advantage over other online universities. As Ginsburg sees it, "Colorado Tech Online fosters a collaboration between staff, instructor, and student to ensure optimal learning in an atmosphere that is both challenging and friendly. This interaction has resulted in a curriculum that is exceptionally relevant, memorable and valuable to professionals whatever their field or individual career goals."

"To tell you the truth," Ginsburg revealed, "I teach a hard course. I expect a lot from my students and I think that they have the right to expect a lot from me in return. If someone gets an "A" or "B" in my class and applies what they're learned to their projects at work, I think they'll have an excellent chance of earning a pat on the back on the job as well. To me, being part of that process is tremendously exciting and rewarding. And it's why I love teaching at Colorado Tech Online."
