Meet Nadine Piatt
MSM with a concentration in Project Management
Adjunct Professor, BSIT, MSM
Like Father, Like Daughter
Nadine Piatt's goal is to become the "ultimate educator" her father once was. My father's motto was "education is one of the few things that nobody can ever take away from you." Nadine firmly believes that "the more you learn, the more valuable an individual you become. If you are able to successfully share information with others you can become the ultimate educator. Some of my father's students came back to him years later and thanked him for helping them achieve success in their professions. That made him very proud, but he was more proud of their success than he was of what he did to help them succeed. My ultimate goal is to be like him." Thanks to Colorado Tech Online and a lot of personal initiative, Nadine may be well on her way to achieving her goal.
Nadine has a lot of experience with online learning and values the education she earned. She earned a Bachelor's of Science in Information Technology in 1999 from the University of Phoenix Online. She completed the Master's of Science in Management program with a concentration in Project Management at Colorado Tech Online in 18 months. "I spent 20-30 hours a week online completing my coursework; I worked two jobs and still managed to graduate with a 4.0 GPA. If I see students struggling in my classes, I let them know that I can empathize with them." Nadine is currently enrolled in a doctoral program at the University of Phoenix Online, working on earning a D.M. of Management with a concentration in Organizational Leadership. "Before I experienced online learning, I never believed that an average high school student like me could accomplish so much."

Nadine chose Colorado Tech Online for several reasons. "I researched many online universities and chose Colorado Tech Online because it offered the degree program I was looking for at a reasonable price and enabled me to earn my degree much more quickly than I would have at a traditional university. I also liked the course structure with 5½ week courses running consecutively. But most of all, I liked the faculty, because they brought practical work experience into the classroom."
Goal to Become the "Ultimate Educator"
Along with her education, Nadine brings over 20 years of corporate experience in information technology, project/human resource management, corporate training and college instruction to the classes she teaches at Colorado Tech Online. Now that Nadine has attained the position of adjunct professor at Colorado Tech Online, "it feels as if my career is naturally progressing. I feel proud to be a part of the CTU Faculty, and to be able to give back to the school that gave me so much." Nadine's education, professional experience, personal interests and overwhelming sense of dedication to her students can combine to make her "the ultimate educator."
Both Nadine and her husband work from their home in Ontario, New York. Online learning and instructing fit very well into Nadine's lifestyle and still leaves time for some enjoyable activities. When Nadine is not at home, tethered to her virtual classrooms via her personal computer, you may find her gripping the handles of a snowmobile in the winter or behind the wheel of a boat during warmer weather. "Despite the dedication to my profession, the devotion to teaching at Colorado Tech Online and working on my doctoral program, I still find the time to lead an interesting, and active life."
Nadine's advice to both current and prospective students at Colorado Tech Online is to consider the importance of the certificates embedded in the fast-paced programs. "Employers value the certificates offered at Colorado Tech Online. They can help you break into a new profession or can add value to your current position. Another benefit of Colorado Tech Online is that you can get your degree more quickly than at a traditional brick and mortar university. Success is not a guarantee, but if you are organized, and can communicate effectively, the tools to your success are at your disposal."
Colorado Tech Online professors are real people leading real lives, whose professional experience and dedication make them educators worthy of your consideration.
