This course is a comprehensive examination of adult corrections process and the history, sentencing alternatives, and the future direction of correction modalities. The student will also explore community corrections and the various methods used outside traditional correctional institutions. Topics will include drug and alcohol abuse, prevention, intervention and treatment and alternatives to incarceration.
