This program includes two integrative and interactive capstone courses:
  • MDR Capstone I. The primary focus in this course is to devise a strategic plan to analyze and categorize the material elements in dispute. Students will use the functional skills acquired from previous core and PM concentration courses to resolve issues or take advantage of opportunities faced by mediators in a business setting.
  • MDR Capstone II. In this course, students will be challenged to apply the analysis strategy and decision-matrix from Capstone I to a simulated dispute. The course provides the opportunity to assess situations and develop courses of actions to address those situations.

Students are required to earn Advanced Practitioner of Mediation (APM) certification through the IADR Global before enrolling in the Capstone 1 course. After earning APM certification, students will receive 12 credits towards the completion of this career-focused program!
